Parent Teacher OrganizationPTO is excited to introduce the 2009 – 2010 Fundraising Schedule! PTO has worked very hard to come up with new fundraising ideas. We felt like it was time to spruce up our fundraisers and try something different. We have decided for this year to get rid of the door to door selling. Our goal is to make our fundraisers more profitable and have fewer of them. To reach our goal we need to have your support in participating in at least 3 if not more of these 5 events. This is a fun way to give back to the school. FALL – Fall Fundraiser will be an Open House at Don Bosco Gym on Sunday, November 1 from 8:30am – 1:30pm. We will have many vendors on hand to do your Christmas shopping. There will be a wide variety including jewelry, skin care products, tupperware, home decor, crafts, food items, and many more. We will be offering a bake sale that we will ask all families to contribute items for that. We will also be offering rolls, coffee and juice and a light lunch for you to enjoy. If you or anyone you know would like to rent a booth for this event we are asking $20 per table and a minimum of 10% of your profit. Please contact Brenda Schares at 296-1220 or jbschares@msn.com. WINTER - Legion Las Vegas will be held again this year on New Year’s Eve. Please join us for a fun-filled evening. We start the evening with a social and dinner. Have fun playing the casino games and other entertainment. Each grade K – 12 will put together a “Theme Basket” that will be part of a silent auction, and there will be raffle prizes. And last but not least we will have a dance from 9pm – 1am. Get ready for an exciting evening! SPRING –Spring Fundraiser will be a Lock In at Don Bosco Gym on Friday, March 26 for grades 3 – 8. Tired of hibernating all winter? This may be just what you are looking for. Get the kids out of the house when they have Spring Fever. We will have entertainment, games, and food all night long and all you have to do is get them there! In the Spring we will also host a 5K Run and Pancake Breakfast on Saturday, May 1st. What a great way to start off the spring and get the whole family in shape. If running/walking is not your thing, that’s ok, join us for a yummy breakfast that you did not have to make! We will continue to host the Spring Picnic in conjunction with the vocal music concert during the first week of May, as we have done for several years. Our kids, K-8, will showcase their musical talents by putting on a concert for parents, grandparents and the community. The picnic supper and snacks will make for a truly enjoyable evening. *Don’t forget we have the can redemption and paper recycling set up year round. Drop off your redeemable cans and bottles at the shed in the Bank parking lot in Gilbertville. And drop off all office paper, newspaper, magazines, phonebooks etc. to the trailer at the end of the plaza at school. These are two of the easiest fundraisers we have because these are items you want to get rid of anyway. Your donations earn thousands of dollars for the school every year! Thank you to parents Georgia McMahon, Jennifer Kelley, Michelle Even, Wendi Welter and teachers Kathy Millett, Corey Carlson, Chris Bailey, and the high school staff for helping organize these events. If you are interested please contact Brenda Schares 296-1220 or Amy Frost at 296-1829. We will again have a table set up at registration for you to sign up for volunteering. With everyone’s participation, the fundraising efforts will be a great success and benefit the students, teachers and the Bosco System as a whole. Thank you for your support!
